Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

Short, friendly answers to the things people ask us most — from getting in to how dates actually work.

What is Yambrella, in one sentence?
Yambrella is meeting-first dating — you plan a real date with someone you mutually match with, meet in person, and skip the endless chatting.
How do invites work?
You create a date — a real time and place — and it reaches people you mutually match with. The ones who are up for it accept, and you choose who you’d love to meet. Invitations from your mutual matches reach you the same way — those are yours to accept.
How does a date get set?
When a host picks someone who accepted, the date is set right then. Accepting was your yes, so there’s no second confirm — the chosen person just gets a heads-up with when and where.
Who can message me?
Messaging opens around a confirmed date, so you chat with someone you’ve both agreed to meet — not random strangers, and no endless pre-date inbox.
Is there a browse-everyone marketplace?
No. Yambrella isn’t an endless swipe feed. You see the invitations sent to you by people you mutually match with, and the people who accepted yours — not a global dump of everyone, and not “whoever is nearby right now.”
What about safety?
Yambrella is for verified adults, chat is bounded to confirmed dates, and you can block or report from inside the app. First dates in public places are always a good idea — see our Safety & community rules for more.
Can I use Yambrella on my phone?
Yes. Yambrella works right in your phone’s browser — log in and everything is designed to feel at home on a small screen.
