Waiting list
Terms of participation
The terms for joining the waiting list and for the rewards for joining early.
This is an English convenience translation of the Hungarian terms of participation. For users living in Hungary, the Hungarian version governs if the two versions differ.
Yambrella has not launched yet. Until it does, you can join the waiting list: we will let you know when we open, and after the launch you get a reward for joining early. This document describes who can sign up, what reward you get, how and until when you can claim it, and what happens in case of abuse or if the programme changes.
Signing up and taking part in the waiting list are free of charge. You take on no payment obligation, and we do not ask for payment details.
After the launch, the use of Yambrella is governed by the General Terms and Conditions. The data we process about you on the waiting list is covered by the privacy notice for the waiting list.
Highlighted terms – summary
Under section 6:78 of the Hungarian Civil Code (Ptk.), we inform you separately about terms that differ from the usual. In the text you also find them marked "Highlighted term", in a box.
| Mark | In short | Where |
|---|---|---|
| V1 | Your reward depends on the number determined at the moment you sign up, and it does not change later – neither in your favour nor to your detriment. | Section 4. |
| V2 | You must claim the reward by registering within 90 days of the launch; after that, all waiting-list rewards are lost. | Section 5. |
| V3 | If you unsubscribe, we delete your sign-up and with it all your rewards. | Section 9. |
| V4 | The permanent 50% discount applies only to the list price of future paid plans, is tied to your Account, and ends in the cases described in section 6. | Section 6. |
| V5 | The month for inviting a friend is due only if your friend starts using Yambrella within 90 days of the launch. | Section 7. |
| V6 | In case of abuse, we may refuse or withdraw the reward. | Section 10. |
| V7 | We may change or end the programme for the reasons listed in section 11, for the future only, but this does not reduce a reward you have already earned. | Section 11. |

3. Who can sign up, and how
3.1 Conditions
You can sign up if
- you are over 18 (the age you give when signing up is between 18 and 99);
- you are a natural person and sign up with your own name and your own email address that you use;
- you choose one of the countries offered on the sign-up form;
- you are not yet on the waiting list. A person may sign up only once.
Yambrella launches in Hungary. You can sign up from another country too, but the reward can only be used in the Yambrella service, and we do not promise that there will be Members or Invitations near where you live.
3.2 Steps of signing up
- First step. You tell us who you are and who you are looking for: your gender, your age, your country and your town, and the gender and age of the partner you are looking for. We do not store these yet.
- The result. We show you how many potential partners you already have on the waiting list (section 4.1) and which reward you get (section 4.2). With the "Change my answers" button you can go back and correct any of your answers.
- Second step. You enter your name and email address and tick the consent for us to keep them until the Launch and to notify you of the Launch. Before sending, you see both fields and can correct them; the form indicates if either is incomplete or incorrect.
- Accepting the terms. With a separate checkbox you confirm that you have read and accept these terms of participation, and that you have read the privacy notice for the waiting list. The checkbox is not ticked in advance, and without ticking it and the consent under point 3 the sign-up cannot be sent.
- Signing up. With the "Join the waiting list" button you send your details.
- Acknowledgement. We immediately send you a welcome email with your personal invite link and the unsubscribe link. If you do not receive it within 48 hours, the sign-up does not bind you: sign up again, or write to us (section 12). It is worth checking your spam folder as well.
If you sign up again with the same email address, no new sign-up is created: the existing one remains valid with the reward determined earlier, and we send the welcome email again – to the same address at most once an hour; more frequent requests are left without an email.
If you mistyped your email address, you will not receive the welcome email, and you cannot tie the reward to the correct address either. In that case, sign up again with the correct address.
3.3 Form, language and record of the sign-up
Participation is created electronically. It does not count as a written contract, and we do not file it as a separate document; we record the time of your sign-up, the text of your consent and the version number of the terms you accepted. You can find the current text of these terms on the website at any time, and you can save it with your browser's print or save function (section 13). You can sign up in Hungarian or in English; the Hungarian text of the terms governs (section 13). We have not subscribed to any code of conduct.
Waiting-list emails are information about the launch of the service and about your reward; they contain no advertising, and every one of them has an unsubscribe link.
4. Which reward you get
4.1 The number of potential partners
After the first step, we show you how many subscribers are already on the waiting list with whom you mutually match. This counts everyone
- whose town is at most 50 km from yours (measured between the centres of the two towns);
- whose gender and age match what you are looking for; and
- whose search criteria you also meet (based on your gender and your age).
The number counts only waiting-list subscribers, not registered Members. Every sign-up is counted: signing up does not require a separate confirmation of the email address. The number is for information only: it does not mean that these subscribers will register, or that you will have a date with them. If the number is below 10, we do not show it, only that you are among the first in your area.
4.2 The two reward levels
| The number of your potential partners at sign-up | Your reward |
|---|---|
| fewer than 50 ("early" level) | 3 months of the Plus plan free after the Launch, and a 50% discount on the price of every later paid plan, permanently (section 6) |
| 50 or more ("standard" level) | 1 month of the Plus plan free after the Launch |
Before you sign up, we show on the result page which reward you get.
Highlighted term (V1) – The reward level is fixed at sign-up. We fix your reward level based on the number recalculated at the moment you send your sign-up. This is normally the same as the number you saw on the result page; if someone signed up or unsubscribed in your area in the time between the two, it may differ from it. We do not recalculate the fixed level later. If the waiting list later grows in your area, you keep the early level; and if you received the standard level, it does not change to the early level even if you later had fewer potential partners. Two subscribers in the same town may receive different levels, because the number measures how many people match you in particular.
4.3 The plans
The plans differ in the quantity limits of Yambrella's functions; every function can be used with each of them. After the Launch, every Member starts with the Free plan.
| Free | Plus | Premium | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your active Invitations at one time | 2 | 5 | 10 |
| Number of Applicants per Invitation | 2 | 5 | 10 |
| An Invitation reaches at most this many Members | 10 | 20 | 50 |
The exact content of the plans in force after the Launch is set out in the General Terms and Conditions; if anything changes before the Launch, we notify you under section 11.
The free months are gifts, not a trial period: when they end, the Free plan applies automatically, and no payment obligation arises.
5. Claiming the reward
5.1 How you claim it
At the Launch, we send you an email with a personal registration link. You claim the reward by
- registering on Yambrella with this link (in that case you can register with any email address), or
- registering without the link, but with the same email address that you used to sign up to the waiting list,
and confirming your registration email address with the activation link you receive. The Claim takes place at the moment of confirmation. If you register without the link and with a different email address, the system cannot connect your Account with your sign-up, and you will not receive the reward. So always register with the personal link or with the email address you gave when signing up.
A sign-up can be claimed only once, and an Account can claim only one sign-up.
5.2 Until when you can claim it
Highlighted term (V2) – 90-day claim deadline. You can claim the reward within 90 days of the Launch. If by then you have not registered and confirmed your email address, your waiting-list rewards – the Plus months, the 50% discount of the early level and the months due to you for invitations – are lost. We state the exact date of the deadline in the email sent at the Launch.
5.3 When the free months begin
The free months begin at the moment of the Claim, not at the Launch. For example, if you claim on the 80th day after the Launch, you still receive the full 3 (or 1) months.
If you have several grants, the highest plan from which you still have time left always applies, and only its time is used up:
- a further month for the same plan is added to the end of the existing time;
- a month for a higher plan starts immediately, and the remaining time of the running lower plan pauses until then and continues afterwards.
This way no granted day is lost, and no grant downgrades your plan.
5.4 Three days of Premium: for a quick claim
If you claim your reward quickly, you receive the Premium plan instead of Plus for the same period (3 or 1 months). For this, the Claim must take place within 3 days (72 hours) of sending the email that we send you first after the Launch with your personal registration link. If you claim before we have sent you this email, that also counts as within the three days.
Only this first email starts the three days. Later reminders do not start a new three days and do not extend them. We state the deadline precisely in the first email. After the 3 days, claiming remains possible until the 90-day deadline, but then you receive the Plus plan. This rule does not affect the 50% discount.
6. The permanent 50% discount
The exact content of the discount due to early-level subscribers is as follows.
Who gets it. A subscriber for whom we fixed the early level at sign-up (section 4.2) and who claimed the reward within the Claim period. We assign the discount to your Account at the Claim.
What it applies to. The price of the paid plans Yambrella introduces in the future (no such plan can be bought at present; these will be the Plus and the Premium plans, and the plans that replace or supplement them and are offered to Members for a fee), if you buy the plan for your own Account, directly from Yambrella, on the Yambrella website. For a subscription, it applies to every billing period, including renewals. If in the future plans can also be bought through a third party (for example an app store), we provide the discount at least for purchases on the Yambrella website.
How much. 50% of the gross list price in force on the day of purchase. The list price is the price Yambrella asks from any Member for the same plan and the same period without a discount. We do not set a separate, higher list price for subscribers with a discount.
Price changes. The discount is a percentage, not a fixed amount. If the list price changes, the discounted price changes accordingly, but it always remains half of the list price in force at the time. The price of paid plans and changes to it are governed by the rules we publish when paid plans are introduced.
With other discounts. The discount cannot be combined with other price discounts or promotions. If another discount would also apply to a purchase, we apply the one that is more favourable to you.
Duration. The discount has no expiry date. It is valid as long as your Account exists and Yambrella offers paid plans.
Highlighted term (V4) – When the discount ends. The discount is a personal entitlement tied to your Account. It ends
- if you delete your Account;
- if we terminate your Account for a serious or – despite a warning – repeated breach of contract, under the General Terms and Conditions, by a reasoned decision;
- if Yambrella ends the service or no longer offers paid plans.
If Yambrella never introduces a paid plan, the discount cannot be used. The discount can in no case be exchanged for money, transferred or sold, and it cannot be carried over to another Account – not even to a new Account of yours. No monetary or other compensation is due for its ending.
If we introduce paid plans. Before paid plans are introduced, we inform by email those whose Account has a discount of how the discount will appear at purchase. We show the discounted price before purchase, before the order button that entails an obligation to pay.
7. Reward for inviting your friends
7.1 What you get
For every friend of yours who signs up to the waiting list through your personal invite link and who starts using Yambrella after the Launch, you receive one month of a plan: the Premium plan if your friend signed up within 72 hours of your own sign-up (section 7.3), otherwise the Plus plan.
The months for invitations add up, without an upper limit, and run under section 5.3: a Plus month is added to the end of your existing Plus time, a Premium month starts immediately and pauses the running Plus time until then. A month due for an invitation never downgrades your existing plan.
The friend you invite gets no separate reward for the invitation: they get the reward due for their own sign-up (section 4).
7.2 When the month is due
Highlighted term (V5) – Conditions of the month for an invitation. The month is due only if all of the following are met:
- your friend signed up through your personal invite link, and has not unsubscribed;
- your friend claimed their own reward within the Claim period (section 5.1) – without this, we cannot tie their Account to their sign-up and thus to you;
- your friend starts using Yambrella within 90 days of the Launch (accepts or creates an Invitation for the first time);
- you have not unsubscribed from the waiting list.
Merely passing on the link, or your friend signing up or registering, does not yet entitle you to a reward. A month is due only once per friend. If your friend takes the first step after the 90th day, the month is not due.
If the month becomes due when you have already claimed your own reward, we credit it to your Account immediately. If you have not claimed it yet, we keep the month on record on your sign-up and credit it at the Claim; if you do not claim within the Claim period, these months are also lost (V2).
7.3 Three days of Premium: the 72 hours after your sign-up
For 3 days (72 hours) from your sign-up, your link is worth more: for every friend who signs up through your personal invite link during that time and later starts using Yambrella, you receive a Premium month; for a friend who signs up after the 72 hours, a Plus month. We give the deadline – to the day, hour and minute, in your country's time zone, with its offset from UTC – in the welcome email.
- The 72 hours are measured from the moment of your sign-up, and what counts is when your friend's sign-up reaches us: a sign-up received before the deadline earns a Premium month, one received at the deadline or later a Plus month. When you passed the link on does not matter.
- The 72 hours run from your sign-up even if the welcome email reaches you later.
- Whether a friend earns a Premium or a Plus month is recorded when they sign up and does not change later. If you or they sign up again with the same email address (section 3.2), this does not restart the 72 hours or change the recorded value.
- You can pass the link on anywhere, to anyone, as often as you like (in a message, by email, on social media). Yambrella sends no invitation to anyone in your name and does not ask you for your friends' email addresses.
- If someone signs up through a link whose code belongs to nobody on the waiting list (for example, because the link's owner has unsubscribed), their sign-up counts as one without an invitation, and no month is due to anyone for it.
7.4 Until when you can invite
Signing up through the personal invite link is possible only before the Launch. With the Launch, the waiting list closes and the sign-up form ceases. The months for invitations can become due under section 7.2 within 90 days after the Launch.
8. Common rules for the rewards
- The reward is personal: only the person who signed up can receive it, and only for their own Account. It cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged for money.
- The granted plans are for a fixed period, and when they end the Free plan applies (sections 4.3 and 5.3).
- The reward is tied to the existence of your Yambrella Account. If your Account ends, any reward not yet used also ends.
- To use the rewards, you must register and accept the General Terms and Conditions; those govern the use of Yambrella.
9. Unsubscribing
You can unsubscribe from the waiting list at any time with the unsubscribe link found in every email of ours, without logging in. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately.
Highlighted term (V3) – Unsubscribing ends every reward. When you unsubscribe, we permanently delete your sign-up – your name, your email address and the details you gave when signing up – so your reward level, the Plus months, the 50% discount and the months for invitations not yet credited also end. From then on your personal invite link does not work. We keep only a statistical record without a name or email address (country, town, gender, the number of days you were subscribed); the details are described in the privacy notice for the waiting list. If you sign up again later, it counts as a new sign-up: we fix the reward level based on the number determined at that time. Unsubscribing does not affect rewards already claimed and credited to your Account.
10. Abuse
The purpose of the programme is to reward genuine, early interested people. It is therefore prohibited
- for the same person to sign up several times, with several email addresses;
- to sign up in someone else's name, with someone else's email address, or with an invented, disposable or non-existent address;
- to invite oneself, or to create sign-ups behind which there is no real, independent person;
- to sign up with an automated tool (for example a bot or a script);
- to sell, buy or offer for consideration the personal invite link or the reward;
- to manipulate the operation of the waiting list or the counter in any other way.
We do not store subscribers' IP addresses. As protection against abuse, the sign-up interface can be used at a limited frequency per internet connection; this limitation is temporary and does not save the IP address. A shared internet connection – for example the network of a household or a workplace – does not in itself count as abuse. Where there are signs of abuse (for example many similar addresses within a short time), a member of our staff examines the sign-ups; we make no automated decision.
Highlighted term (V6) – Refusing the reward in case of abuse. If we establish on good grounds that a sign-up or an invitation results from abuse under this section, we may delete the sign-up concerned and refuse the reward arising from it – the reward level, the month for the invitation or the discount – or withdraw a benefit already credited but resulting from abuse. We communicate our decision by email, with reasons, and you can lodge a complaint against the decision (section 12). We do not withdraw the reward merely because several subscribers came from the same network.
11. Changes to and end of the programme
Highlighted term (V7) – Changes only for defined reasons, for the future. We may change or end the waiting-list programme, for the future, only for one of the following reasons:
- a change in, or a requirement of, legislation or a court or authority decision;
- preventing or stopping abuse;
- a change in the time or manner of the Launch;
- a change in Yambrella's plans or functions before the Launch;
- clarifying the terms or making them easier to understand, without changing them to the subscribers' detriment.
We notify subscribers of the change by email at least 15 days before it takes effect: we describe what changes, when and why, and we publish the amended terms. A change that is solely in your favour, or that legislation or an authority requires immediately, may take effect at shorter notice.
The change may not reduce what you were already entitled to before it took effect:
- the reward level fixed at your sign-up (the number of Plus months and the 50% discount of the early level);
- the months due under section 7 for friends who signed up through your link before the change, with the plan recorded at their sign-up;
- the 90-day claim period and the 3-day Premium rules.
If you do not agree with the change, you can unsubscribe at any time, free of charge. Your silence, or staying on the waiting list, does not mean consent to a reduction of a reward you have already earned.
If Yambrella does not launch. If Yambrella ultimately does not launch, we notify you by email and delete your waiting-list data under the privacy notice for the waiting list. In that case the rewards cannot be used. As participation was free of charge, no monetary compensation is due.
If Yambrella ends after the Launch. The granted plans and the discount end when the service ends; we notify you in advance under the General Terms and Conditions.
12. Questions and complaints
12.1 Where to make them
You can send your questions to to be completed. You can make a complaint about the waiting list or the rewards – under section 17/A of Act CLV of 1997 on consumer protection (Fgytv.) – in writing:
- by email: to be completed;
- by post: to be completed.
In the complaint, give your name, the email address you used to sign up and a description of the complaint. If any of these is missing, we cannot handle the complaint under the rules for written complaints.
12.2 How we handle it
We send a substantive, reasoned written reply to a written complaint within 30 days of receiving it. If we reject the complaint, we give our reasons and tell you which authority or conciliation body (békéltető testület) you can turn to, together with their contact details. We have not made a general declaration of submission, but we cooperate in the conciliation body's procedure. We keep the complaint and a copy of our reply for three years and present them to the authority on request.
12.3 Conciliation body, authority, court
If we reject your complaint, or we cannot reach an agreement, you can as a consumer turn, free of charge, to the conciliation body of your place of residence or stay; you can also name another body in your application.
Budapest Conciliation Body (Budapesti Békéltető Testület)
- Address: 1016 Budapest, Krisztina krt. 99. I. em. 111.
- Postal address: 1253 Budapest, Pf. 10.
- Phone: +36 1 488 2131
- Email: bekelteto.testulet@bkik.hu
- Website: https://bekeltet.bkik.hu
The contact details of the other conciliation bodies are at https://bekeltetes.hu.
You can also turn to the government office of the capital or county competent for your place of residence (fővárosi és megyei kormányhivatal) as the consumer protection authority (professionally directed by the Nemzeti Kereskedelmi és Fogyasztóvédelmi Hatóság – National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority, https://nkfh.gov.hu), and to a court (section 13). Complaints about the processing of your personal data are covered by the privacy notice for the waiting list.
13. Governing law, language and availability of the terms
These terms are governed by Hungarian law. If, as a consumer, your habitual residence is not in Hungary, this does not deprive you of the protection afforded by the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence, and you can also bring proceedings before the court of your place of residence. We can sue you only before the court of your place of residence. We do not use an arbitration clause.
For consumers living in Hungary, the Hungarian text of these terms governs; the English version is a convenience translation.
The current text of the terms is available without logging in at hu.yambrella.com/terms (in Hungarian) and yambrella.com/terms (English translation), and can be printed or saved with the browser's print or save function. The changes are summarised in the Change log; on request, we send the full text of an earlier version by email.
